About me

Porträt der Gründerin von Innerwalk bei einem achtsamen Spaziergang in der Natur bei Bern

InnerWalk was born out of the desire not only to traverse nature, but to truly encounter it – with time, with attention, with all senses.

My name is Karl-Johannes Gerwin. Music, movement, and nature have accompanied me for many years as spaces of experience where external landscapes and inner processes meet. My roots lie in artistic work. I studied music and intensively explored sound, voice, and the interplay of body and rhythm.
As a musician and choir director, I have experienced how much presence, listening, and breathing together can open up spaces – beyond technology and performance.

At the same time, movement has accompanied me as a form of expression. Not movement as training, but as a way to perceive my own body more consciously, to experience tension and expansiveness, and to enter into a relationship with space.

These experiences continue to shape my work to this day.

Travel and being on the move have always been important teachers.
My understanding of nature has grown through many journeys across Europe and beyond – on foot, in silence, encountering diverse landscapes and cultures: not as a backdrop, but as a counterpart. For me, hiking means thinking in motion. Clarity emerges step by step. This applies to easy paths as well as alpine routes, where mindfulness, slowness, and respect for the conditions become crucial.

Today I live as a father of three children in a blended family. This, too, has changed my perspective on nature. It is not merely a place of retreat, but a space that connects, orders, and sustains –
in different phases of life.

InnerWalk brings together these experiences.

The tours are invitations to slow down, to perceive one's own body again as a space for resonance, and to encounter nature with openness – without a goal, without pressure, in one's own rhythm.

My working methods

InnerWalk tours take place in small groups and follow a calm, mindful pace.

Simple exercises help to open the senses, perceive the body and experience the environment more consciously.

No prior knowledge, special fitness, or performance expectations are required.

My stance

InnerWalk is aimed at people who
Appreciating silence and vastness, wanting to take time and being open to perception, movement and simplicity.

InnerWalk is less suitable for people who expect athletic performance and need clear goals. or looking for entertainment.
